What a surreal but amazing experience that was and it still hasn't quite sunk in that I've done it. Despite some early teething problems like my banner falling off after about 3 minutes and the wind wreaking havoc with my postcard throwing, I managed to achieve everything I set out to. Which also included changing my name by Deed Poll. The reason for this was that it was my mother's 60th on that day and she had always regretted not giving me her name as she was an only child and both her parents had passed away. My birthday present to her was phoning Deed Poll from the Plinth and changing my name for her which came as a huge shock when I revealed my plans on a banner I'd had made.
It was a wonderful thing to see people of all ages and backgrounds opening the envelopes, fill out the postcards and hand them back. A section on my time on the Plinth can be seen here -

After I got down from the Plinth I holed up in a cafe across the road and tipped the postcards on to the table. I was humbled and moved by what I read.
These are the postcards..
